Antidote Movement Club

Get high on yourself, you are your own antidote.

Meet Andrea

It’s here that I get to be my truest self: a mover, a shaker, a coach, and a friend.

Andrea Yacyshyn

Andrea Yacyshyn (she/her) is a multi-disciplinary mover and shaker; having had a vast dance career, she became a massage therapist and set out to change the way we think about and move our bodies. Wanting to offer her clients a more comprehensive experience, she created classes that pull from the science of rehabilitative movement, the foundations of pilates, the creative expression of dance, and soothing somatic movement principles.

Through her movement platform, Antidote Movement Club, Andrea aims to allow participants the space to really FEEL themselves; her classes inspire a deep sense of care and ownership towards their body. She believes that by embracing ourselves as individuals and seeing ourselves as important community members, we can feel limitless in our potential.

Andrea holds the following education and certifications: Bachelor of Education, RMT, Pilates Mat certification, Yamuna Body Rolling practitioner, Thomas Hanna Somatic Exercise and has been teaching dance and movement for 17 years.

Offerings

Yamuna Body Rolling (YBR)

Slow + Low

Roll out of bed and on to your mat, this is our favorite way to start a Saturday! The majority of this class takes place on the floor and is all about slow, intentional stretches and mobilizations. We add in a little Pilates and fluid dance-like movements to warm us up as we transition back to standing, leaving you feeling vibrant, focused, and energized for the rest of your weekend.

The Low Down Pelvic Floor Workshop

This class will be part discussion and part movement; we will cover the following topics: anatomy and function, the diaphragm and pelvic floor connection, breath work, release and strengthening work. We will also chat about next steps if you are interested in working with a physiotherapist or manual therapist. This class is taught in a gender inclusive manner and is not pre/post natal specific - all are welcome.

A systematic approach to releasing tension, pain, and creating balance and realignment in the body on the YBR balls. Think foam rolling but kinder and smarter. This class aims to empower students to learn more about their bodies so they can take care of themselves when issues arise.
