Psych K: Rewiring Limiting Beliefs, Stresses, and Traumas

Since we started our partnership with City &and Soul, we have had a lot of questions about Psych K. Everyone seems to be intrigued and curious about what Psych K is and how it can create positive change in your life. Being curious is a major component of Psych K; it’s important to remain curious about our psyches, our world and our own relationships to and with that world.

Psych K came into our lives in March of 2019. My sister and business partner, Jori, had been having some health issues which eventually led to her having a sinus thrombosis, aka a stroke, at the age of 28. During a period when she couldn’t see properly, she was listening to a lot of podcasts - one of which happened to mention Psych K. I have no doubt that this was not coincidental. Jori then shared the premise of Psych K with me. At that time in my life, I was dealing with infidelity in my marriage and was desperate for anything that would help me navigate through it. We decided it was divinely timed and jumped in with both feet. Right before our foundational training or otherwise known as “basic workshop,” our father passed away suddenly. After his passing, we decided we would go ahead and do the workshop. Dad would have wanted that for us.

Psych K has changed our lives and helped us through all of these challenges, and we are so proud and excited to be sharing our personal stories and how Psych K has made overcoming these challenges (and more!) possible.

Your beliefs are the foundation of your personality. You are defined by your beliefs and because of this, they have far reaching power and far reaching consequences both positive and negative. With so much riding on your basic beliefs, it is essential that we know how to change any beliefs that are limiting us into ones that will support us. Psych K is defined as a spiritual process with psychological benefits. It is an easy and effective way to rewrite limiting beliefs, stress, and trauma at the subconscious level of the mind. The overall goal is to align your subconscious beliefs with your conscious thoughts. Neuroscience indicates up to 98% (yes you read that right), of our consciousness is subconscious. The subconscious is our computer, storing all of our experiences, thoughts, feelings, values, and attitudes (including the ones we don’t know we have)!

The originator of Psych K, Rob Williams, was a professional psychotherapist who used techniques such as neuro-linguistic programming, hypnosis, and educational kinesiology. Finding the standardized or accepted philosophies lacking in spiritual essence and overall effectiveness, came a series of intuitive insights that became the body of Psych K. Along with his colleague, Dr. Bruce Lipton, they developed the framework of what Psych K is today. If you are wanting to learn more in depth about these two originators I recommend reading Rob’s book “Psych K The Missing Piece Peace In Your Life,” and Bruce’s book, “The Biology of Belief”.

You will hear Jori and I talk about ‘balances’ when we are talking about Psych K which are the basic processes of Psych K. Balances are designed to create a “whole brained state” which is the ideal setting for us to access the subconscious mind and reprogram new self enhancing beliefs while reducing unwanted stress and accessing your full potential response when dealing with life’s challenges. While the results of a balance may be felt immediately, and that is often the case, others may need more time to integrate. During a balance we use muscle testing as an easy and effective way to determine the presence or absence of stress in the subconscious mind and to accurately identify subconscious truths.

There is not a lot of preparation needed before attending a Psych K session, however there are a few things that we would recommend to help you identify the root issue, belief, or stress you want to address for faster more effective results. First - create an intention, such as self love, finding my voice, etc. Next, come up with 1-3 things you would like to focus on in the session. And finally, write some Belief Statements (which we will help you with)! Additionally, hydrating before a session and especially if doing a distance session to make sure you have a strong wifi connection!

Psych K is a partnership between the facilitator and the individual. We are there to guide you through the process but the real work and the most important influence in making the change, is within the individual making that change, you! Psych K is not done to you, but with you. The real power to change lies within all of us. You only need to have the key.

The Soul Belief,

Tessa Tersmette
